Definitely make sure you give Dave a call if you're looking for an honest quote, opinion and recommendation. He came out and could have easily sold me on attic baffles and insulation as I had already gotten a quote from another company, suggesting I needed these things. I had explained to him the full extent of what they wanted to do. To my surprise he explained to me that I actually required no work in my attic. In fact he said that my attic is 95% better than most of the ones he walks into. I suppose the other guys were looking to make a quick buck as I had called them in with concerns of ice damming. The other company suggested that I required complete baffling on every rafter as there was a lack of airflow. Dave explained that I had more than adequate baffling and fantastic air flow and at the insulation itself has barely settled and is still sitting around the originally installed R50. His only recommendation would be that I add heat Trace wire in the location where the ice damming occurred. Unfortunately, he lost out on a job today because he put his honesty and integrity ahead of his greed. Although I can't specifically comment on his pricing or the quality of the work itself, today's interaction speaks volumes about his character. I was an easy target, but he instead chose to literally save me from unnecessarily spending $3,800. If I, or anyone I know, ever need insulation work done in the future I will definitely be giving Dave O'Dwyer a call. God bless you brother the world needs more contractors like you.
